System for Assessing Acceptable Environmental Flow in Rivers and Streams of Greece – ECOFLOW

The ECOFLOW project aims to establish a systematic and standardized process for assessing environmentally acceptable flow levels in rivers and streams whose flow is affected by water management infrastructure projects (dams, reservoirs, pumping stations, etc.).

The project is funded by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology and is being implemented in collaboration with HCMR (Hellenic Centre for Marine Research), the Department of Geology & Geoenvironment at the University of Athens, and the companies D. Argyropoulos & Partners O.E. and AVMAP GIS A.E. The project code is 11ΣΥΝ_8_917 (total budget: €703,000). The project will run from March 2, 2013, to August 31, 2015 (30 months).

Specifically, the company is responsible for the design and development of the Hydroecological platform (web-based software). It is also tasked with organizing training seminars and developing the official project website.
